How much do I need to retire?
So just how much money do doctors need to accumulate to retire comfortably? The number one question that every doctor faces when it comes to building wealth is ‘how much do I need to retire?’ In this video I shed some clarity on how much retirement income doctors typically require.
Amount per year
In my experience a reasonable amount would be anything between AUD$120,000 and AUD$150,000 after tax per annum. When we know this, we now have to reverse engineer that. Let’s say we have a reasonably diversified portfolio, earning a reasonable level of income and capital growth. In that case you would need at least AUS$ 3 million to retire comfortably as a doctor.
Now the question is: what is your plan to accumulate this amount of money?
